When developing new technology concepts, it is important to determine any technical and economic barriers and consider their implications to the designs. AU addresses these by developing software based chemical process simulations and process cost estimations from an early stage in the designs. In this way the feasibility of a particular process or technology can be determined, estimates between project alternatives can be made and optimization of the design can be performed. AU’s versatile experimental capabilities ranging from small to pilot and demonstration scale can provide the necessary data required for validation of the simulations.
