The Department of Biological and Chemical Engineering offers public agencies and ministries research-based public sector consultancy on technology in agriculture and food. This includes consultancy in connection with specific commissions from ministries as well as research to form the basis for the consultancy.
Our consultancy is based on research into environmental technologies related to livestock production, fertilization, biorefining, and bioenergy production. This includes:
Quantification of odor nuisances and technologies to reduce them.
Biogas production from agricultural biomass including climate and environmental effects.
Technologies and integrated processes for the cascading utilization of bioresources, especially from agriculture and agro-industry, to production of a spectrum of products including pharma, food, materials, chemicals, fuels, energy and nutrients in a circular bioeconomy.
The work includes acute ad-hoc tasks, professional reviews of existing knowledge, and the generation and reporting of new knowledge.
